In the first quarter alone, Curry scored 25 points and shot a perfect nine from nine from the field, including five three-pointers from as many attempts.
He slowed down slightly in the second and third quarters before he produced yet another masterclass to carry his team to victory.
Trailing in the last few minutes of the game, Curry’s Warriors teammates were desperate to get the ball in his hands at every opportunity — and it paid off big time.
Inside the last two minutes, Curry nailed two huge three-pointers from way downtown to give the Warriors the lead.
He casually knocked down a shot from 31 feet out near the logo and then buried another long-range shot from 27 feet.
Curry sealed the win for the Warriors with two clutch free throws — finishing the game with 45 points including eight three-pointers, 10 rebounds and eight assists.
The California-based team has started the NBA season 2-0 after defeating both LA teams.
Curry is averaging 10 rebounds from those two games, which is an impressive feat for a point guard.
The last time he had back-to-back games with 10 boards was at the start of the 2017 NBA Finals, which the Warriors went on to win.
The 33-year-old was in a league of his own against the Clippers and chants of “MVP” echoed around San Francisco’s Chase Center as the Warriors’ home crowd recognised the greatness they were witnessing.
NBA fans were in disbelief as Curry turned in another shooting exhibition for the ages.
His star teammate Draymond Green is used to Curry’s heroics but admitted he occasionally holds his breath when he fires off a long bomb.
“Some of them like ‘Jesus Christ, what the hell’ and the majority of them ‘That’s money.’,” Green said after the game.
Warriors coach Steve Kerr was full praise for his superstar player and said Curry is peerless in the NBA.
“Steph Curry was just Steph Curry,” he said.
“There’s never been anybody like him. Those two threes were ridiculous.”
Kerr said he continues to be amazed by Curry’s incredible shooting accuracy.
“I never say, ‘No, no no’,” he said.
“I want him to shoot every time.
“Even though we’ve been here watching it, I’m still blown away.
“There’s never been anyone like him. Not just the shooting range but the competitiveness and the guts.
“Just an amazing player. What a game he had.”
