West Virginia vs. Texas prediction and odds for Saturday, February 11 (Longhorns have edge)
Texas hosts West Virginia in Big 12 action in hopes of remaining at the top of the conference standings.
West Virginia has been playing their best after a slow start to conference play, winning five of seven games to get back inside the NCAA Tournament field. However, one of those two losses came at home to Texas, 69-61, can they get some revenge on Saturday afternoon?
Here are the odds for Saturday’s matchup:

West Virginia vs. Texas prediction and pick
West Virginia’s offense isn’t efficient at making shots, a big issue against a Texas team that is more than capable of pushing into the 80’s on any given night. The Mountaineers thrive at winning on the offensive glass and getting to the free throw line, but that will be tough sledding against a stout Longhorns defense that limits those chances for opponents.
The team is also owed some three-point regression, as they are allowing the second highest three-point percentage to opponents in Big 12 play, more than three percent higher than non conference play.
I don’t trust West Virginia’s suspect offense that scored just 61 points in the first meeting to keep up with the Longhorns offense that is shooting 52% on two-point tries and can handle the heavy ball pressure of the Mountaineers that may force turnovers, but also foul a lot (second highest foul rate in Big 12 play). This is the best Big 12 free throw shooting team and I believe the Longhorns are in line to pull away and cover against West Virginia.
PICK: Texas -5.5
