- West Ham were sanctioned by UEFA for fan behaviour in the Conference League
- The Hammers will be unable to sell tickets for their first away Europa League tie
- A second match has been suspended while the club have also been fined
West Ham supporters will be banned from attending their first Europa League away match next season after the club were sanctioned by UEFA over fan behaviour in the Europa Conference League final.
The Hammers were charged by UEFA earlier this month over incidents during their 2-1 win over Fiorentina in the final in Prague.
Cristiano Biraghi, the Serie A side’s captain, sustained a cut head after being hit by one of several plastic cups hurled at him from the end containing West Ham supporters as he went to take a first-half corner.
The game had to be stopped as medics attended to a gash to Biraghi’s head while the referee ushered the other Italian players to the halfway line.
West Ham captain Declan Rice apologised to Biraghi, and the club issued a statement promising to take action against anyone found to have committed an offence and ban them from attending matches at the London Stadium.

UEFA have also fined West Ham £43,000 over the objects thrown by the club’s supporters
UEFA confirmed West Ham have been fined €50,000 (£43,000) and will be banned from selling tickets to away supporters for their next two UEFA competition matches for the throwing of objects.
The second has been suspended for a probationary period of two years, the governing body confirmed.
West Ham were also fined €8,000 (£6,800) after fans entered the field of play to celebrate after the final whistle.
The Hammers qualified for next season’s Europa League by winning the Conference League, the club’s first European silverware since 1965.
West Ham supporters will now be prevented from attending their first away match in next season’s group stage due to the UEFA sanction.
