Scamacca signed for West Ham last summer from Sassuolo in a deal worth an initial £30.5million.

After playing regularly earlier in the season, Scamacca’s progress was halted by a knee injury and he has been an unused substitute for the last two league games after returning to fitness.

So far this season Scamacca has scored seven goals in 24 appearances for West Ham across all competitions.

The FA Cup fifth round tie away to Manchester United on Wednesday could represent an opportunity for Scamacca to get some playing time.

The 24-year-old’s contact with West Ham is set to run until the summer of 2027, with there being an option for a further year.
