  • Michail Antonio has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabian side Al-Ettifaq
  • The move is now off, with Antonio staying at West Ham for the moment
  • Aaron Cresswell is also staying after his move to Wolves was called off

Michail Antonio’s proposed move to Saudi Arabian side Al-Ettifaq is off, as things stand.

The 33-year-old has been linked with a switch to the Middle East that would see him play under manager Steven Gerrard.

Jordan Henderson completed his move to Al-Ettifaq on Thursday, and Antonio looked set to join him, with talks being held earlier this week.

However, the Jamaican forward is now set to stay put at West Ham for the moment, with a transfer to Al-Ettifaq off the table.

Antonio has spent the last eight years at West Ham, but scored just five league goals last term as the Irons were dragged into a relegation battle.

He did net six goals in Europe, though, as David Moyes’s side won the Conference League to end their 43-year wait for silverware.

Meanwhile, Aaron Cresswell is also staying at West Ham after the club called off the full back’s move to Wolves.

The two Premier League clubs had been in negotiations, but failed to reach an agreement on a fee.

Cresswell is another vastly experienced player, who will now enter his tenth season at West Ham, unless the club agree to sell him to another team.

The England international made 28 league appearances last season, but is now into the final year of his contract at the London Stadium.
