ZIEGFELD (Race 3, No.3 — $2.80)
Godolphin’s Ziegfeld, a stakeswinner in France, has shown promise in his three Australian starts including his most recent effort when just edged out by Order Again in the Winter Challenge. James McDonald should position Ziegfeld directly behind leader Skymax and be ready to strike from the turn. Ziegfeld gets out to 2000m for the first time but he has a good turn of foot and this looks an ideal race.

BIG PARADE (Race 2, No.1 — $2.90)
This exciting sprinter has trialled up in top fashion and from barrier one he can jump and lead all the way. He’ll be very hard to peg back in the straight, especially if he gets it his own way in front and relaxes well.

MR MOZART (Race 4, No.6 — $3.40)
He is a very flashy Team Hawkes-trained son of their stakes winning mare Euro Angel. By the way, the Hawkes’ also trained Euro Angel’s siblings Leebaz, Polish Knight and Zebrowski. Mr Mozart showed above average qualities in his first preparation and the recent trial was outstanding.

Smart galloper resuming and was gelded while away from the track. Only ever contested Stakes races so well placed in this grade and has trialled up super in preparation for his return.

BIG PARADE (Race 2, No.1 — $2.90)
Trusting the Mark Newnham-trained galloper can bring his strong trial form to the races and got the job done early in the day here. He’s a pair of tune ups and won both with what looked to be a fair bit up his sleeve and should be ready to fire fresh.

BIG PARADE (Race 2, No.1 — $2.90)
Hard to be against this winning machine after going to another level last preparation. His two trials in the lead up to this have been great, winning the latest by 6-1/2 lengths and Josh Parr has built a strong bond with him. Harnesses a stack of speed and from the inside gate, Big Parade should go straight to the front and prove tough to run down.

TRENTON AKERS (Courier Mail) Form: 18×12
PROFIT (Race 4, No.3 — $2.00)
Was impressive behind two above-average horses a fortnight ago, now he gets the weight off his back with gun three-kilo apprentice Jaden Lloyd taking the reins for the first time. This field isn’t as deep as the one that featured Emerald Kingdom and Scallopini two weeks ago.
Value bet: SPANISH POINT (Race 7, No.2 — $6)
NATHAN EXELBY (Sky Racing) Form: 18×11
CHAMPAGNE AUNTY (Race 7, No.8 — $2.70)
Two runs this prep have been outstanding. Overcame a wide trip to win over the mile in good overall time (for the day) here last start. Up to 1800m is a logical progression. Draws out, but natural speed should carry her forward into a prominent spot without doing too much work. Expected her to come up shorter in early markets.
