Michigan basketball head coach Juwan Howard not only punched Wisconsin basketball assistant coach Joe Krabbenhoft in the face on Sunday, but another Badgers coach told him off in the immediate aftermath.
College hoops fans will tell their grandchildren one day about the time Michigan basketball head coach Juwan Howard got so mad that he punched a Wisconsin basketball assistant coach Joe Krabbenhoft in the face.
It was bad and Howard could lose his job over this. That will be up to Michigan athletic director Warde Manuel to decide. Either way, this haymaker of sorts came out of nowhere on Sunday afternoon to wake everyone up. In the aftermath of the brawl, check out another Wisconsin basketball coach waving at Howard as he walked off the court before making an obscene gesture.

Clearly, all the years of talking smack to someone from behind a chainlink fence have finally paid off. The pen may be mightier than the sword, but what happens when the dry-erase marker runs out on the trusted whiteboard? Diplomacy is great in theory, but nothing could possibly get under one’s skin quite like using an unnecessary timeout in late February Big Ten men’s basketball game.
Even if the Wolverines are in a good spot with Phil Martelli stepping into action for however long Howard is out, Michigan needs to win the Big Ten Tournament to go dancing. Fueled by spite, the only other thing fans could want is for the Wolverines to face Wisconsin one more time in the conference tournament. Basketball is a contact sport, but who expected this kind of violence?
Every other matchup in the Big Ten Tournament would serve as the undercard for the main event.
