Watch: This Family’s Gadget-Free Dinner Policy Is Inspiring Twitter

Technology has taken over our lives completely. We are now completely inseparable from our gadgets no matter what time of the day it is. This all-pervasive presence of electronic appliances in our lives hampers our ability to live in the moment and enjoy what we are doing. So, what is the solution to this dilemma? A family has devised a policy of keeping dinners completely gadget-free and the video has gone viral. The deal was that every member of the family would get their dinner only when they would keep aside their laptops, tablets and smartphones. Watch the full viral video here:

The video was shared on Twitter by user @pb3060, where it received 175k views and thousands of comments and likes. “Dinner ka naya rule,” wrote the user in the caption. In the clip, we could see the mother seated at the dining table with the food. Once the gadget was kept on one side of the table, only then were the family members allowed to take the food from her. “Dinner is not just eating food, it’s family time,” read the concluding text.
A number of Twitter users could relate to the rule about no gadgets at dinner time. “It’s a similar scene at our home. The rule is to throw gadgets and have food,” explained one user. Others pointed out that gadgets actually reduced our attention span and we would not even pay attention to the food we were eating. “Need of the hour to implement this,” commented one user.
