With the richest purse in golf and as the flagship event of the PGA Tour, THE PLAYERS Championship is always reason for golf fans to get excited. The money and prestige draws out one of the best fields in the sport and, even better, they get to take on an absolute gem of a course at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL.
All of the big names — save for Bryson DeChambeau after an injury-related WD and Phil Mickelson for, well, obvious reasons — are going to be on the course this week with Jon Rahm, defending champion Justin Thomas, Collin Morikawa, Viktor Hovland, Rory McIlroy, Jordan Spieth and many, many more teeing it up for a share of a $20 million purse.

The Featured Groups for Rounds 1 and 2 are as follows:

The Cantlay-Rahm-Hovland, Garcia-Scott-Oosthuizen and Niemann-Matsuyama-Smith threesomes will tee off early on Thursday and late on Friday. The reverse will be true for the other three groups.

Featured group and PGA Tour Live coverage will begin early in the morning and, for THE PLAYERS, golf fans will have the ability to watch every shot live. A subscription to ESPN+, the new host of PGA Tour Live is required, however.
In the afternoons, coverage will shift to Golf Channel on Thursday and Friday and then to NBC on Saturday and Sunday. You can stream their coverage on NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app by logging in with a cable or satellite subscription.
With that said, inclement weather is in the forecast this weekend in Ponte Vedra Beach, so the tee times and coverage are subject to change.
