Watch: Texas A&M football fans rush field after upsetting Alabama

Texas A&M fans rushed the field after the Aggies pulled off the huge 41-38 upset win over the Alabama Crimson Tide on Saturday.

If the first half proved anything, it was that the Texas A&M Aggies were not going to be push-overs for the Alabama Crimson Tide. Even though the defending national champions made a comeback in the second half, the Aggies not only tied things up but worked all the way down the field to hit a field goal as time expired to take the 41-38 victory.

Since the Aggies took down the top-ranked team in the entire nation, Texas A&M fans commemorated the occasion by rushing onto Kyle Field to celebrate.

Texas A&M pulls off upset of the year over Alabama

The decision by those in the stands will be costly for Texas A&M. The SEC has fined schools $250,000 for fans running onto the field, as it violates their “access to competition area policy.” The conference issued that fine earlier this week to Kentucky after fans celebrated their win over Florida last Saturday.

The Aggies would not have reached upset territory if not for the performance by quarterback Zach Calzada. There was a moment in the fourth quarter where he appeared to have suffered a leg injury as he threw a game-tying touchdown pass to Ainias Smith Yet, he emerged from the medical tent and helped set up the game-winning field goal by Seth Small on the final drive of regulation.

Calzada completed 21-of-31 pass attempts for 285 yards, three touchdowns and one interception.

Texas A&M pulled off the upset of the season, and it is a no contest. Safe to say that Texas A&M will have no problem paying the fine.
