“Jab khane ki baat chali hai, aur chaat ki baat chali hai toh Lucknow ka naam aana bhi swaabhavik hai (When it comes to food, and specifically chaat, it is only natural to mention Lucknow),” stated PM Modi. He further mentioned the names of two renowned outlets in Sydney known for their delectable Indian cuisine. “Vaise maine suna hai ki Harris Park mein Chatkazz ki ‘Chaat’ and Jaipur Sweets ki Jalebi – unka toh koi jawaab hee nahi hai (I have heard that Chatkazz’s Chaat and Jalebi at Jaipur Sweets have no match),” said PM Modi amid resounding cheers from the audience.
He further expressed his desire for his Australian counterpart, Anthony Albanese, to experience the exquisite food there. “Meri aap sabse request hai, aap log kabhi mere mitr, PM Albanese ko bhi wahaan zaroor le jaiyega (I would like to request all of you to make sure my friend, PM Albanese, also visits that place),” he conveyed in the video.
This is not the only time we have seen PM Modi mentioning Indian food at a global level. In March 2023, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida visited the country for bilateral talks. The duo enjoyed gol gappas and chai over conversations. Click here to read more about this story.
