Watch Lori Harvey Channel “Modern Day Barbie” for Vogue World
The Vogue World fashion show in New York had a star-studded front row, including Doja Cat, Lil Nas X, and Kravis. Also in the VIP section? Model and entrepreneur Lori Harvey, who allowed Vogue in on her getting-ready process in a new video.
Harvey’s Vogue World glam began with a wake-up call at her hotel. “It is fashion week and I am running on fumes, so I need a little extra help,” Harvey admits. After Harvey indulged in a face mask, makeup artist James Kaliadros got to work. “We’re going for modern-day Barbie glam,” says Harvey. “Really pretty glowy skin, with my signature nude lip.” Hair stylist Ray Christopher tied her hair in a sleek bun.
After taking a moment to eat some Shake Shack— “A big bag of greasy fries just makes me so happy,” says Harvey—it was then time to get dressed. Stylist Elly Karamoh was feeling a fun, youthful ensemble, and chose a look by New York’s Saint Sintra. “The look that we’re going for is really colorful and eclectic,” he says of the multicolor feather skirt and white corset top. To accessorize, they added a pair of Louboutin pumps. “Which, if you know you know,” says Harvey. “Your feet are going to be screaming. But they are a very strong, sophisticated look.”
Ready in her full look, Harvey shared that she often sends her red carpet or press appearance looks to her parents for approval. “My mom will definitely text me after she sees this look and ask me to send her the skirt,” laughs Harvey. “My dad is more simple: He’ll send some fire emojis.” After snapping some photos by the windows and in the elevator, Harvey was then off to the Vogue World show—hopping into her party bus looking like the modern-day Barbie she hoped to be.
