Watch: Jonny Bairstow’s reaction when asked about Lord’s controversial stumping | Cricket News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: England wicketkeeper batter Jonny Bairstow’s controversial stumping dismissal in the second Ashes Test at Lord’s has again become a big talking point, with Australia facing flak for their act against the spirit of the game.

Addressing the media after stumps on the third day of the fourth Test, Bairstow was asked about his dismissal by a journalist again but the English player looked in no mood to answer.

The journalist started by asking “We haven’t spoken to you since everything that happened at Lord’s.”
Bairstow replied, “I got no comment on it.”
But the journalist made another attempt and went on to ask, “But you haven’t felt like you were wronged?”
“Like I said, I have got no comment,” Bairstow maintained his stand.
Bairstow was given out when Australia wicketkeeper Alex Carey threw the ball at the stumps after he walked out of his crease after ducking under a Cameron Green bouncer.
There was confusion in the middle, Bairstow seemingly believing the ball was dead at the end of the over but Australia were happy to proceed with a deeply divisive appeal.
The umpires sent the decision upstairs for review by TV umpire Marais Erasmus, who had no option but to confirm Bairstow’s stumping dismissal.
