Watch Jessica Penne absolutely destroy Karolina Kowalkiewicz’s arm in the first round during the UFC 265 prelims.

Former UFC strawweight title challenger Jessica Penne earned a massive win against the always-dangerous Karolina Kowalkiewicz in style at UFC 265.

In the opening minutes of the fight, Penne quickly made her move to get the fight to the ground, a place in which the experienced striker Kowalkiewicz isn’t as comfortable.

Kowalkiewicz welcomed Penne bringing the fight to the ground instead of opting to work off her back and back up to her feet. Penne made her pay with an absolutely nasty armbar that nearly shattered Kowalkiewicz’s arm before she tapped to the submission.

Penne entered the fight with plenty of momentum with a win over Lupita Godinez earlier this year in her return to the UFC after a four-year layoff. This also marked the first time that Penne has won back-to-back fights since 2014.

Jessica Penne has now won two straight after a four-year hiatus from the UFC

Penne finishing a fight isn’t exactly a common occurrence, as the armbar submission against Kowalkiewicz was her first since Invicta FC 6 in 2013. The first-round finish at UFC 265 could give Penne a boost that she desperately needed in the UFC’s strawweight division.

UFC 265 took place on Aug. 7, 2021, live from the Toyota Center in Houston, TX. Follow along with FanSided for all your live news and highlights.
