Vogue100 Celebrated Haute Couture with Alexandre Vauthier at Caviar Kaspia
Alexandre Vauthier and Vogue100 hosted the ultimate dinner party to toast the designer’s latest Haute Couture collection. The celebration, mere hours after the runway show at the Palais de Tokyo, took place at the permanently hot Parisian spot, Caviar Kaspia. The restaurant, with its dark and smoky decadence, mirrored the dim tones and drama of the collection. Gone were the usual bright colors, and instead, Vauthier, as he told Vogue Runway, focused on “sobriety and allure.”
There was plenty of allure on display at the fête, if less sobriety. Vodka martinis and flutes of Champagne circulated on a silver tray. Editors, models, and muses gleefully discussed the week and its many festivities. Theater producer Jordan Roth chatted with stylist Géraldine Saglio. Shoe designer Amina Muaddi caught up with Thomas Delage of Vogue France. Vogue100 members Marion Caunter and Jamie Soros compared show schedules.
Of course, the feast was caviar-covered baked potato. Singer Clemence Langlade, dressed in a black gown by the designer, serenaded the guests as fresh raspberries were placed on the buzzy tables for dessert. Her breathy renditions of popular songs (think “Toxic” by Britney Spears) set a seductive mood. Guests, consumed with laughter and gossip, stayed long after the food was cleared. Outside, rain poured over the city of light, but inside, the party had just begun.
