Vodafone-Idea makes this ‘important’ change to two of its affordable prepaid plans: Details – Times of India

Vodafone-Idea (Vi), the third-largest telecom service provider in India, has made an important change to its two prepaid plans. The change comes in the form of validity. TelecomTalk has reported that Vi has reduced the validity of its Rs 99 and Rs 128 prepaid plans. According to the report, the telecom service provider has reduced the validity of these two plans by up to 13 days.
Vodafone-Idea (Vi) Rs 99: New validity and benefits
VI used to offer 28 days validity with Rs 99 plan. Now, the prepaid plan only comes with 15 days of validity. The telecom service provider hasn’t made any changes to the prepaid plans. The benefits of the plan include 200MB data, Rs 99 talktime. The plan does not come with any SMS benefits. Users have to pay the standard SMS price for each SMS sent.
Vodafone-Idea (Vi) Rs 128: New validity and benefits
Vi’s Rs 128 prepaid plan also used to offer 28 days of validity. Now, it comes with 18 days of validity. Other benefits are also unchanged just like the Rs 99 prepaid plan which includes 10 local on-net Night minutes. Users will have to pay 2.5 paise per second for calls with this plan. Note that the Rs 128 plan’s validity change is currently only applicable in Mumbai. But, we expect Vi to expand the changes in more regions soon.
Vi is not alone, Airtel has also discontinued its entry-level plan recently. Airtel has recently discontinued the Rs 99 prepaid plan which was its most affordable prepaid plan. The lowest prepaid plan available now costs Rs 155. Airtel first started testing the new plan in two regions and slowly expanded it to almost all the regions in the country.
Meanwhile, Vodafone-Idea has started offering its customers 6GB of free data. For this users are expected to subscribe to Hungama Gold trial membership via the Vi app which costs Rs 108 for three months.
