Vivek Agnihotri takes an indirect dig at Prabhas starrer Salaar: Now glamourising extreme violence in cinema is also considered talent | Hindi Movie News – Times of India

Filmmaker Prashanth Neel recently released the teaser of his highly anticipated film Salaar starring Prabhas in the lead. The makers also revealed the release date September 28 which is the same release date for filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri’s upcoming film The Vaccine War. Amid the clash, Vivek took an indirect dig at the makers of Salaar.
Vivek took to Twitter to share his take on the depiction of violence in cinema and how it is considered talent.”People aren’t born violent. Your children’s minds are conditioned by glamourising violence in popular literature, cinema and politics by industry leaders who should be actually inspiring young minds for peace. In such a violent world only solution is creative consciousness,” he tweeted.

In another tweet, Vivek responded to a Twitter user saying, “Now glamourising extreme violence in cinema is also considered talent. Promoting nonsense cinema is considered a bigger talent. Promoting a non-actor as biggest star is considered biggest talent. And assuming audience is super-dumb is mother of all talent.”

For the uninitiated, Vivek and Prabhas had earlier clashed at the box office with their respective films The Kashmir Files and Radhe Shyam. While The Kashmir Files turned out to be one of the highest grossing low-budget film, Radhe Shyam became one of the biggest duds of all time.

While keeping the film’s details under wraps but the title reveals about its underlying theme. The Vaccine War alludes to the exploration of Indian bio-scientists and their groundbreaking indigenous vaccines. The film aims to honor the unwavering dedication of the medical community and scientists who stood tall during the unprecedented challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic.
