Vivek Agnihotri reacts to Priyanka Gandhi’s speech and says, “It’s time Gandhis start acting in movies” – Times of India

Recently, Congress Leader Priyanka Gandhi spoke at the Sankalp Satyagraha at Rajghat, the memorial of Mahatma Gandhi in Delhi. It was to protest against Rahul Gandhi’s conviction in a 2019 defamation case and his disqualification from the Lok Sabha. She expressed the sacrifices which her family has made.
Priyanka had said in her speech, “My family’s blood has ploughed democracy in this country. We are ready to do anything for this country’s democracy. Great leaders of the Congress laid the foundation of democracy in this country.”

She further added that people have been insulting her family and they’ve remained silent all through but not any more. Priyanka questioned, “How much will you insult one person? Was Lord Ram who was sent into exile a ‘parivaarwadi’?”
‘The Kashmir Files’ director Vivek Agnihotri has reacted to this clip and tweeted, “Family… family…. Family… What have you done? Family se itna fake pyaar hai to I’d suggest it’s time Gandhis start acting in Karan Johar films. At least, family ecosystem to match karega. Kya pata KJo ko bhi le doobein.”

He further tweeted, “Victim card is the first and last defense of the entitled.”

A while ago, Vivek was at the TimesLit Fest where he had finally address allegations of his closeness to BJP and Narendra Modi. He had said, “I would say that a lot of people don’t like me in Bollywood because they say, ‘You support Modi.’ They say I make political films. But I want to ask that at what point were Bollywood stars not close to politicians? Wasn’t Amitabh Bachchan, the closest friend of Rajeev Gandhi? Isn’t Mr Khan, closest friend of Priyanka and Sonia Gandhi? These things are told about me openly, but name one star or director who is not the closest with these people. But they do it hush hush. Didn’t Aamir Khan sit with Medha Patkar for Narmada agitation? Wasn’t he involved in politics? Why am I singled out?”
