Vivek Agnihotri REACTS to Nadav Lapid’s apology in the ‘The Kashmir Files’ row; says ‘I don’t care’ – Times of India

After creating an uproar by calling Vivek Agnihotri’s film, ‘The Kashmir Files’ a ‘vulgar propaganda’, Israeli filmmaker Nadav Lapid apologised in an interview for his remarks. Now, the film’s director has reacted to the same.

Vivek Agnihotri was asked to react to Nadav’s apology. However, it looked like the director was in no mood to give it any importance. Agnihotri said that he doesn’t care what Nadav says or doesn’t say anymore.

Elaborating further, he added that he has come to shoot in Pune, and he is getting so much love for the film. According to him, people are thanking him for making the film, so he doesn’t need an endorsement from a foreigner as he doesn’t know anything about this country. If it doesn’t come from the heart, it is not an apology, Agnihotri told Hindustan Times.

In an interview with another news portal, Lapid apologised for his comment. According to him, his aim was not to insult people or their relatives, who have suffered. The filmmaker added that he apologises if that’s the way they interpreted. Nadav also went on to add that he understands Vivek Agnihotri’s anger on the same.

Lapid triggered a major controversy at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa when he described ‘The Kashmir Files’ as ‘propaganda’ and a ‘vulgar’ film that was ‘inappropriate for an artistic, competitive section of such a prestigious film festival’. His comments attracted a lot of criticism from ‘The Kashmir Files’ team and others.

‘The Kashmir Files’ starred Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumar, Mithun Chakraborty and Pallavi Joshi among others.
