Vivek Agnihotri elaborates on his ‘fashion over films at Cannes’ tweet; says ‘Bollywood actors have no spine left, they are busy promoting brands’ | Hindi Movie News – Times of India

Vivek Agnihotri had recently tweeted about how fashion has taken over films at the Cannes Film Festival. According to him, looking weird and shocking the audience is in fashion.
Recalling the time he went to Cannes for his film, ‘The Tashkent Files’, Agnihotri said that he witnessed that fashion models wearing weird costumes was the main attraction at the red carpet. And the greatest of the actors and directors walked by and nobody cared about them. In fact, he remembered that they were being pushed around.

Spilling some more beans on this whole scenario of fashion taking over films at Cannes, Agnihotri added that they are busy doing brand promotions and that’s why they have to keep quiet. According to him, Bollywood actors have no spine left. They have become social media influencers, so they are not acting anymore.

Elaborating further, Vivek added that by doing all that people are corrupting the festival. According to him, nobody cares about the central theme of the festival. Nobody knows which film was being screened or which won in what category. He also pointed out that most actors who attended Cannes from India had none of their films being there, and some didn’t even have a release in many years.
