Virat Kohli: Todd Murphy scalps Virat Kohli for the third time in the series | Cricket News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Virat Kohli’s struggle against the spinners, especially on turning tracks, continued as the India batter on Wednesday fell to a slow bowler for the fourth time in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar series in Indore.
On the opening day of the third Test, the Indian run-machine was out leg before wicket to off-spinner Todd Murphy. It was the third time in three matches that Murphy, who made his Test debut in this series in the first Test in Nagpur, got the better of Kohli.
Kohli, who has batted in four innings so far, was dismissed by left-arm spinner Matthew Kuhnemann, who made his debut in second Test, in Delhi.
In many ways, Virat looked like the best equipped to tackle the Aussie spin troika of Nathan Lyon, Kuhnemann and Murphy on a track on which every other batter before him struggled. But he eventually fell for 22 off 52 balls.

Virat is still looking for a really big score in this series. He had scored 12 in Nagpur in a Test India only batted once in and then 44 & 20 in Delhi.
On Day 1 of the Indore Test on Wednesday, Kohli went for a forward lunge block but the ball drifted a touch quicker than anticipated and stayed really low to beat him. It also spun just enough from off to be crashing into the leg stump. Kohli took his chance on a review but lost it.
India went to lunch at 84/7.
