Viral tweet claims PM Modi’s banned BBC Documentary uploaded online with Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Pathaan’ title – Times of India

Despite Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, John Abraham and team Pathaan’s anti-piracy plea to all fans, the film was leaked online and available for download on piracy websites.
According to reports, the full movie was leaked online hours before it could hit the big screen on January 25. While some sites put out ‘camrip’ prints, others uploaded ‘pre-DVD’ rip.

However, going by the latest tweets, not all those downloading the film on piracy websites got to see Shah Rukh Khan in action. A viral tweet had alleged that the BBC Documentary ‘India: The Modi Question’, which has been blocked in India by the Modi government, has been uploaded online with the title ‘Pathaan Full HD’.

“Someone has uploaded BBC documentary on Telegram, Drive and Mdisk with the name Pathaan Full HD. Those looking for pirated #Pathaan will end up watching the BBC documentary. I’m curious to know who that ‘someone’ is,” read the tweet.

While the tweet has gone viral, and raked in thousands of likes and retweets, it remains unverified. External Affairs Ministry spokesperson had stated that the documentary series was a ‘propaganda piece’.

Meanwhile, ‘Pathaan’ is the fourth film in a spy franchise and marks Shah Rukh Khan’s return to the big screen. The film sees him pull some tough stunts while fighting John Abraham, who plays the antagonist. ‘Pathaan’ has gone on to record the highest opening with a collection of over Rs 100 crore on Day 1. The film reportedly broke all box office records and collected an estimated Rs 54 crore at the Indian box office.
