Viral clip shows Cristiano Ronaldo fuming after his Al-Nassr team-mate’s horror shot sails over the crossbar from 30 yards out… with the five-time Ballon d’Or winner left with his hands on his hips in disbelief
- Cristiano Ronaldo’s team-mate has gone viral for striking a wild attempt at goal
- The ball sailed over the crossbar and Ronaldo seemed frustrated stood in the box
A clip has gone viral of Cristiano Ronaldo’s team-mate Abdulmajeed Al-Sulaiheem striking a wild effort over the bar during a Saudi Pro League game earlier this year.
It’s been an interesting start to life in the Middle East for Ronaldo, who’s unceremonious exit from Manchester United back in December saw him become one of the highest paid players in world football, joining Al-Nassr on a whopping £175million-a-year contract.
But it’s been a difficult start to life at the new club for the five-time Ballon d’Or winner who, notably was seen becoming more and more frustrated as his side slowly slipped away from winning the Saudi Pro League.
Their rivals, Al-Ittihad would go on to pip them to claim the title, with Ronaldo being left distraught after he failed to pick up a trophy in his first season at the club.
Prior to that, rumours started to circulate that the 38-year-old had wanted to leave the club only nine months after joining, while Ronaldo was seen fuming at his own bench after Al-Nassr crashed out of the King Cup of Champions and kicking a water bottle after his side lost 1-0 to Al-Ittihad in March.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner has had an in-different start to life in the Middle East, expressing his frustration with several outbursts towards the end of the 2021-22 season
On top of those outbursts, he was also seen arguing with opposition fans after his new club drew to Al-Feiha back in April, while more recently throwing water at a camera man during his side’s Arab Club Champions Cup game against Al-Shabab.
Ronaldo has been playing pretty well for his new side, returning 14 goals in 16 matches last season, but things haven’t gone all his own way.
The frustrations in the ex-Real Madrid forward are starting to become more visible with footage now going viral of the forward notably being left speechless with one of his team-mates last season.
The viral clip sees his team-mate Al-Sulaiheem lash a wild shot over the crossbar from long range during Al-Nassr’s 3-1 win against Abha back in March.
Instead of playing a pass out wide or a cross into the box where Ronaldo is waiting, the midfielder opts to put his laces through the ball, with Ronaldo watching the ball career high up into the air and out for a goal kick, before placing his hands on his hips in exasperation.
Fans took to Twitter to comment on the clip, with one writing: ‘Ronaldo hands on his head looking down thinking, should have went to the MLS’
One user added: ‘You’d have to pay me half a billion dollars to play with this guy too.’
‘Ronaldo is putting up with a lot,’ said another.
It comes after Ronaldo recently admitted that the Saudi Pro League was better than the MLS.
He claimed earlier this year that he would not be moving back to a European club while also admitting the ‘Saudi Pro League was better than the MLS’
Those comments notably came after Lionel Messi completed his move to Inter Miami CF at the start of the summer
His comments came after long-standing rival, Lionel Messi, completed his move to Inter Miami CF at the start of the summer, while also admitting he would not be returning to another European club in his career.
‘The Saudi league is better than the MLS,’ he said, according to Fabrizio Romano.
‘I’m 100 per cent sure I won’t return to any European club. I opened the way to the Saudi league and now all the players are coming here.
‘I won’t return to European football, the door is completely closed,’ he added.
‘The Spanish league does not have that great quality. The Portuguese league is a good league, but it is not a top, top league. The German league I think has also lost a lot. I’m sure I won’t play in Europe again. I want to play in Saudi Arabia.’
