‘Vintage Bravo, reliable Josh’: Fans laud CSK pace duo for restricting SRH to low total
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) made one change for their clash against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) bringing in Dwayne Bravo, who is known for his change-ups and cutters on a sluggish track in Sharjah and it paid dividends for the table-toppers right away.
Not just Bravo, CSK’s tall pacer Josh Hazlewood took made his mark. Hazlewood dismissed SRH’s hero in the last game, Jason Roy in his second over pegging the men in orange back and Bravo in his first over, just after the powerplay removed SRH skipper Kane Williamson trapping him LBW.
Bravo’s slower balls and speedy deliveries as a surprise worked wonders as he soon got his second wicket in form of Priyam Garg.
Abhishek Sharma and Abdul Samad struggled to find boundaries as SRH closed in on 100 but just as they wanted to step on the gas, they again lost wickets as after hitting a six off Hazlewood’s final over, Sharma got out on the next delivery.
Hazlewood soon got rid of Samad as well in the same over finishing with 3/24, his best figures in the IPL. Bravo finished with 2/17 as apart from his intelligent bowling, his dance moves were on show as well.
Some late hits from Rashid Khan ensured SRH got beyond 130 to get to a respectable total of 134/7. The fans praised both CSK pace bowlers for their exceptional bowling. Here are some of the reactions:
SRH: We have Kane Williamson who is in fab 4
Bravo: Hold my variations#SRHvCSK pic.twitter.com/DPS7UdLHNb

Don’t just drop Bravo, he’s taking wickets for fun, hitting quickfire runs in the end for fun. Vintage BRAVO is back .#SRHvCSK

Bravo uses his faster balls very smartly. Doesn’t bowl those often but when he does, it always comes as a surprise to the batters. That’s why he hurries them up even though those effort balls are just bowled at 130-135 kph. #SRHvCSK | #IPL2021

We often speak about Bumrah, Nortje, Rabada, Boult & many but hardly is anyone noticing Hazlewood. How beautifully & Silently he is proving out to be an asset to CSK. He might not be under wickets column but his economy has been superb @bhogleharsha#CSKvsSRH
