Vijay Deverakonda says he feels ‘awkward and embarrassed’ about being called a superstar – Times of India
In an interview with a news portal, Vijay stated that he has always been fascinated with the term superstar. The actor also added that he always wanted to be called and be one too. He has been doing Liger fandom tours across India and has been receiving so much love. The actor is also being addressed as a superstar everywhere.
Reacting to the same, Vijay stated that it is a little awkward for him and he is also a little embarrassed by it. The actor feels that he hasn’t done much yet to deserve it. Although he doesn’t know if the term fits yet, he has been overwhelmed with all the love he has been receiving, Vijay told Galatta Plus.
The actor’s Hindi debut reportedly comes at a time when Bollywood is struggling to get a hit. Even some biggies like Aamir Khan starrer ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ and Akshay Kumar’s ‘Raksha Bandhan’ has bombed at the box office.
However, the actor says he is not under any pressure. According to him, he has a really good film in hand. There is no point in complaining and you just have to push and see where the limit is. Vijay also added that from this release, he will take the learnings and accordingly take the steps ahead.
‘Liger’ also stars Ananya Panday, Ramya Krishnan, Ronit Roy and others in key roles. It is slated to hit the theatres on August 25.
