Talking about body shaming, Vidya told an entertainment portal that she had rejected one side of hers and accepted one to the exclusion of the other. But with time, experience, awareness and acceptance, she realised that there cannot be one without the other saying otherwise she would be walking as half a body.
She confessed that she felt like her body is not the body that the world or her mother expected her to have. She grappled with this mindset and after a while she realised that she was abusing her own body and was angry with it.
She added that she was falling sick often because she was constantly rejecting her own body. She realised that if it’s not for this body, she wouldn’t be alive. She said that she has spent many years hating her body and now she finds it pointless.
On the work front, Vidya will be next seen in director Anu Menon‘s upcoming mystery thriller Neeyat. It also stars Ram Kapoor, Rahul Bose, Neeraj Kabi, Shahana Goswami, Amrita Puri, Dipannita Sharma, Niki Walia, Shashank Arora, Prajakta Koli and Danesh Razvi.
The movie marks Vidya’s return to theatres after her successful digital stint with Shakuntala Devi, Sherni and Jalsa. It will be out in theatres on July 7.
