On Tuesday morning, many Indians found themselves running on very little sleep due to the delayed IPL finals between MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings team and Hardik Pandya’s Gujarat Titans team. The thrilling final concluded late at night due to rain. However, work must go on, even for actors like Vicky Kaushal and Sara Ali Khan. The two stars, who were in Ahmedabad for the promotions of their upcoming film ‘Zara Hatke Zara Bachke’, watched the IPL final live from the stadium.

Despite the late-night match, the team had prior commitments for promotions in Lucknow, which couldn’t be canceled or postponed. So, both Vicky and Sara, still sporting their half-sleepy appearances, made their way to Lucknow. Vicky shared a story documenting their journey, captioning it, “Neend hui nahi hai poori, aapse milna hai zaroori… Nawaabo ke sheher hain hum aa rahe, Iss Friday movie jo hum laa rahe” (Our sleep is not complete, but meeting you is necessary… We are coming to the city of royals with the movie we are bringing this Friday). The car, in which the two stars were travelling, played the song Tere Vaaste from their film, while a sleepy Sara, wearing an eye mask, caught up on some rest.
Vicky also shared a video right after Dhoni’s team emerged victorious, showing him and Sara clapping and dancing in celebration of the winners and runners-up. In the video, Vicky wrote, “Badle tere MAHI… leke jo koi sari, duniya bhi dede agar.. to kise duniya chahiye!! MAHI for the win!!! Jaddu you rockstar!!! What a match! GT… the best team through the tournament. Clearly, the game was the real winner. #ipl2023 #iplfinal.”
