Vicky Kaushal opens up on his role in Govinda Naam Mera, admits he finds it difficult to do comedy – Times of India
Govinda Naam Mera is all set to release tomorrow. The movie, co-starring Kiara Advani and Bhumi Pednekar is a mad comedy about a simple man named Govinda who is going through some tough times as a junior background dancer. He seems to be in deep debt and his wife is having an affair. To make matters worse, there seems to be a murder that has taken place in his chawl, further landing him in a soup!
Vicky, who plays the lead Govinda in the movie recently opened up on comedy as a genre and why it is a difficult one to master. In an interview to Film Companion, the
Uri actor admitted that he was nervous while shooting for the Shashank Khaitan directed fim.
Elaborating further, the 34-year-old shared that compared to a heavy, emotional scene, the pressure to perform in a comedy scene is far more greater. The
Masaan actor further said that with comedy, you have to make sure that the joke lands, because the bigger risk is that you might miss it completely. Moving on, Vicky said that since there are multiple retakes of a single shot, the crew do not normally laugh at a comedy scene, that left the actor in a limbo, thinking whether the joke is working or not.
Govinda Naam Mera will release on Disney+ Hotstar tomorrow, December 16.
