Veteran actress Sulochna Latkar passes away at the age of 94 | Hindi Movie News – Times of India
As per reports, her heath deteriorated on Saturday, June 3 and she was put on a ventilator. Earlier, her health had deteriorated in March and she was hospitalised that time for three weeks and recovered.
Sulochana Latkar was born on July 30, 1928 in Khadaklat, Karnataka. She made her debut in 1946 as an actor. The veteran actress is largely known for not just her stint in Hindi cinema but she’s done some memorable work Marathi cinema. She’s known for movies like ‘Sasurvas’, ‘Vahini Chiya Bangdya’ and more. She’s acted in more than 250 Marathi films.
As far as Hindi movies were concerned, Latkar was largely known for her ‘mother roles’ here from 1959 in Dil Dekhe Dekho to many movies till 1995. Some of her memorable movies include ‘Kati Patang’, ‘Mere Jeevan Sathi’, among more.
The actress was honored with the Padma Shri Award in 1999 for her contribution to cinema. Apart from that, he was given the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award in 2004. She was also honoured with the ‘Maharashtra Bhushan’ award.
