Varun Dhawan is currently going all out for the promotions of his next, ‘Bawaal’, co-starring Janhvi Kapoor. Amid this, he will also kickstart the shoot of his next film, which is a collaboration with Atlee.
Touted to be an action entertainer, the film is tentatively titled VD18 and will be helmed by Tamildirector Kalees, while Atlee will be producing it with Murad Khetani.Giving details about the film’s mailed shoot plans, a source told ETimes, “Varun Dhawan will start shooting for his Atlee film from July 16. The first schedule of the film is going to be shot on a set in Mumbai. Atlee will be on sets barring for the action and songs sequences.” Recently, Varun Dhawan had revealed that this project will hit screens on May 31, 2024. It is being said that this project is a remake of Tamil film ‘Theri’, directed by Atlee.
Varun and Janhvi starrer ‘Bawaal’ is helmed by Nitesh Tiwari. The film is scheduled for an OTT release on July 21. Speaking about working with the ‘Dangal’ director, Varun had shared, “Working with Nitesh sir was always on my bucket list. I still remember, I often asked Nitesh sir to make a film with me in covid times. Finally, after 7 8 months, he had a story for me. I personally feel it is one of my best characters. This is closest to the reality.”
