Varun Dhawan and Anil Kapoor shoot party number for ‘Jug Jugg Jeeyo’ – Times of India

Varun Dhawan and Anil Kapoor’s ‘Jug Jugg Jeeyo’ has given background dancers and junior artistes a reason to celebrate. Many of these artistes have got a chance to return to the film set, after a long struggle during the pandemic and multiple lockdowns. A song is currently being shot at Royal Palms in Goregaon and it has provided an opportunity for dozens of artistes.

The song has a bachelors’ party theme with Anil Kapoor and Varun Dhawan leading the charge and dancers and juniors artistes being choreographed by Adil Shaikh. He has worked with Varun before in ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’.

A source from the production says, “Although the shoot has a large crew, the production team is working under the new normal and following covid protocols. A supervisor is always hovering around the unit to check if they are following the rules. But the crew is happy because after a really long time, a Bollywood movie is shooting a song on such a big scale. It feels like the old days of pre-Covid have returned but with new rules.”

Directed by Raj Mehta, who has previously directed ‘Good Newwz’, this film narrates the story of two couples from different generations. ‘Jug Jugg Jeeyo’ is a light-hearted drama which talks about love and generation gaps. The family entertainer went on floors in November last year but the film’s shoot was stalled after a few members, including Neetu Kapoor and Varun Dhawan, tested positive for Covid-19.

On the work front, Anil Kapoor will be seen in movies like ‘Animal’ and ‘Thar’. Varun Dhawan will be seen in the horror drama ‘Bhediya’ with Kriti Sanon. He also has Sajid Nadiadwala’s ‘Sanki’ and Sriram Raghavan’s ‘Ekkis’ in the offing.
