The first piece of jewelry I ever bought myself was a pair of gold bird enamel and feathered gold earrings from Fred Leighton. I was working on a fashion show at that time, and Fred Leighton was doing the jewelry. I saw them and was like, “Oh my gosh, I love them, I love them, I love them!” I just thought I can’t buy them, they are so expensive. This was probably a good 17 years ago, and I
still wear them, and I would definitely give them to my daughter one day. They are so unusual, it’s a chandelier earring with a gold leaf with little tiny flower enamel, and its tail is a feather! I have never felt so strongly about something, and those earrings were amazing. In the end, I thought “If I still love them by day 5, I will buy them.” I still love them 17 years later.
The last piece of jewelry I bought myself was a pair of Jennifer Fisher hoops. I can dress up and dress down in them. They are so versatile and great; they don’t go out of fashion.
