Valuables With Chloe Kim: The Olympian Shares Jewelry-Favorites

Chloe Kim is 22 years old and already a two-time Olympic gold medal winner, not to mention she is the youngest woman to win an Olympic gold medal at just 17 years old. Plus, the Time magazine cover star is an advocate for mental health issues and uses her huge social network to address racism against Asian Americans.  list does go on and on! But lesser known than her glowing list of accolades is her appreciation for all things fine jewelry—she shops them for herself and others. She is super close to her family and nothing gives her more pleasure than sharing her success with them. She exhibits genuine excitement as she talks about her dad being able to pick out his favorite watch (a Breitling Ford Mustang edition watch) and the confidence he got from wearing it. She also tells Vogue how sporting twinning jewelry with her mum empowers her! As for other forms of relaxation, she loves horses and loves to ride. 

What was the first and last piece of jewelry you bought for yourself? 

“The first piece of jewelry I bought myself was a pair of Tiffany & Co. hoop earrings in silver. I was on a budget back then! I got those after winning my first contest, my first X games, so those were my gift to myself when I was 14 years old; I chose Tiffany. I have expensive taste.”

Tell us about your most special piece. 

“Honestly, I buy jewelry and when I put them on, I never take it off, like for months. I love this necklace I bought from Tiffany & Co. because my dad has something very similar so it kind of feels twinsie. I like matching with my mum too. We shop together all the time! The last thing my mum and I bought something to match was the Cartier Love bracelet and she wears it all the time. I think anything where I am twinning with my mum is really special to me.”
