UTSA stays undefeated with wild touchdown at :03 against UAB
Meep meep. The Roadrunners keep their undefeated season going.
No. 22 UTSA went to the fourth quarter trailing UAB late on Saturday, but in just over a minute, quarterback Frank Harris accounted for 77 yards, capped off with a 1-yard jump pass to tight end Oscar Cardenas with three seconds left for the go-ahead touchdown to remain undefeated.

The win certainly didn’t come easy for a team that has, for the most part, rolled to all of its wins this season.
UAB scored a touchdown with 5:19 left in the game when running back DeWayne McBride rushed in from 16 yards out to put UAB on top 24-17. The next drive, the Roadrunners marched down to the UAB 41-yard line, but were unable to get the 10 yards needed to convert on a 4th-and-10 to keep the drive alive.
But the defense came in clutch, forcing UAB to punt after a three-and-out.

Enter Harris. UTSA began the drive at its own 23-yard line with 1:06 left to play. Harris had an incompletion on the first play of the drive, but completed three straight passes of 28, 6 and 33 yards to march the team down the field. He then rushed for nine yards before an incompletion brought up the 3rd-and-goal situation.
Harris dropped the low snap to start, but was able to rush to his left to avoid any potential pressure. He saw Cardenas open in the end zone, but his pass was tipped by a UAB defender before Cardenas caught the deflection.

UTSA, now 11-0 on the year, will face North Texas (4-6) next Saturday in its final game of the regular season. The Roadrunners will then move on to face the winner of the Conference USA East division in the championship game on Dec. 3. They are one of just two undefeated Group of Five teams — No. 5 Cincinnati being the other — and one of three undefeated FBS teams.
