The 2022 US Open tee times for the third round have arrived as we now know who made the cut and reflect on those who didn’t.
Moving day is here for the 2022 US Open as The Country Club at Brookline continues to challenge the world’s best golfers. Friday showed some movement at the top of the leaderboard, and others grind it out to hold onto their spot.
Will someone no one expects to win come out on top this weekend, or will Rory McIlroy win two weeks in a row? Will Jon Rahm become the first player since Brooks Koepka won back-to-back US Opens to repeat himself?
Could we even possibly see someone off the first page of the leaderboard soar up it on Saturday to put themselves into contention?
This third major has not disappointed yet as two rounds remain before crowning the next US Open champion.
Golf fans don’t need to miss a moment of the third round, so we have the US Open tee times for moving day locked and loaded to see which pairings could be the best.
Fans can take a sigh of relief as the third round starts a little later in the morning than 6:45 a.m. ET we saw on the first two days.
Notable US Open missed cuts
There were quite a few notable names that didn’t make the cut this weekend and a few surprises.
The cut line was at +3, and some of the big names that missed the cut were Shane Lowry, Tony Finau, Sergio Garcia, Viktor Hovland, Billy Horschel, Harold Varner III, Daniel Berger, Cameron Smith, Louis Oosthuizen and Phil Mickelson.
Lowry couldn’t get any momentum going through those first two days, and he was probably the most surprising to see not make the weekend. He has played well this season, so it was slightly shocking.
Hovland was right in the hunt early in his second round but fell apart down the stretch and missed the cut at +7. He did not look like himself, which was another surprise.
Mickelson finished +11 through the first two rounds, and it’s safe to say this year was the last time he could legitimately compete in this tournament. He will go down as the king of US Open runner-ups.
Finau once again missed a cut at the US Open, so this isn’t surprising but a tad disappointing.
While it was tough to send these guys home, the remaining players in the hunt are sure to entertain us all. This weekend will surely be full of competitive golf, and we could see some carnage before a champion gets crowned.

Saturday should be a defining day separating the elite from those who took advantage of the circumstances during the first two days.
With the leaders teeing off at 3:45 p.m., coverage will end around 8 p.m., and there will be a better idea of who could win the third major championship of 2022.
