US automotive firm Pi Square opens India tech centre in Bengaluru

Pi Square Technologies, a Michigan-headquartered automotive technology firm, has opened its India tech centre in Bengaluru.

Located at Karle Town Centre SEZ in North Bengaluru, the tech centre was inaugurated by Karnataka IT minister Ashwath Narayan on Friday.

The centre will focus on innovative product development and embedded engineering services for global automotive and original equipment manufacturing (OEM) giants, including several Fortune 500 companies, the statement said.

Some of the key focus areas are emerging automotive technologies such as in-vehicle infotainment, connected vehicles, advanced driver-assistance system (ADAS) leading to autonomous driving, battery management systems, software-over-the-air (SOTA) update, cyber security, and functional safety.

More than 120 engineers will be working at the Bengaluru facility initially, which will be scaled up to 1,000 over the next two years.

“Bengaluru houses more than 400 R&D centres in various technologies. Glad that Pi Square Technologies is opening its automotive tech centre here. With cars becoming increasingly software-driven, the Silicon Valley of India will play a major role in the global automotive industry,” Narayan said.
