Urvashi Rautela reveals Sonali Kulkarni’s ‘women are lazy’ comment doesn’t apply to her; says she has made a career in Bollywood on her own – Times of India
In an Instagram video shared by a paparazzi account, Urvashi was asked about the controversy surrounding Sonali Kulkarni’s remark about Indian women. In response, she stated that the remark does not apply to her because she is an outsider. According to her, everybody knows how hardworking she is and that she has made a career in Bollywood on her own.
The actress also added that her fans know her globally. Urvashi also revealed that she is the only Indian girl to win Miss Universe India twice and is the youngest judge in history to have judged Miss Universe. So the comment doesn’t apply to her.
She also went on to add that the quote applies to all the velli (jobless) girls out there. Urvashi then concluded by saying that she doesn’t want to hurt anybody, but that is the reason for the matter.
At a recent event, Sonali Kulkarni had said, “In India a lot of women are just lazy. They want a boyfriend or husband, who has a very good job, owns a house, and has assurance of getting regular increments. But, in the middle of this, women forget to make a stand for themselves. Women don’t know what will they do.”
Soon the actress received a backlash for her comment from the people who found it offensive. Following the backlash, Sonali took to her Instagram handle to share an apology post with her fans.
