Unrecognizable Eli Manning try to win the starting quarterback job at Penn State (Video)

Former New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning went undercover to make the Penn State football team as a walk-on.

Eli Manning played college football with the Ole Miss Rebels, turning him into the first-overall pick in the 2004 NFL Draft. He spent his entire career with the New York Giants and won two Super Bowls. Post-career, Manning is now part of the “Manning Cast” on Monday Night Football alongside his older brother Peyton.

But is Manning trying to make a comeback?

During an episode of ESPN’s “Eli’s Places,” Manning visited the Penn State Nittany Lions and spoke with head coach James Franklin. When asking about how walk-ons make the team, Franklin brought up that they hold two tryouts a year, with one of them coincidentally being the day of filming. Manning said he wanted to give it a try, Franklin brings up that he could be a distraction.

Manning then went undercover as “Chad Powers.”

Manning had nearly everyone fooled. He tried out the 40-yard dash and threw some deep passes to the wide receivers. In fact, one of the coaches who may or may not have been in on the prank praised “Powers.”

At the end of the tryout, Franklin revealed that “Powers” was disqualified from making the team due to running a 5.49-second 40-time and a 7-foot-10 broad jump and being ineligible. That is when Manning ripped off the prosthetic makeup to reveal his identity to everyone at the tryout.

It was a hilarious prank by Manning.

He is not making a comeback, but he showed that he, we mean, “Chad Powers,” has some incredible arm talent.
