On Thursday, Black Entertainment Television announced its nominees for the 2023 BET Awards.

JOHANNESBURG – Some of southern Africa’s top musicians will rub shoulders with the best in the business after receiving their nominations for this year’s BET Awards.
Eswatini-born DJ Lungelihle Zwane, professionally known as Uncle Waffles, and South African rapper Ntokozo Mdluli, known as K.O, have both been nominated for Best International Act.
Another celebrity flying the South African flag high is amapiano hitmaker Paballo Basetsana Mothapo, better known as Pabi Cooper, who was nominated for the Viewer’s Choice: Best New International Act Award.
On Thursday, BET announced its nominees for the 2023 BET Awards. There is an abundance of creativity and Black excellence reflected in this year’s nominees across music, television, film, and sports.
BET Awards 2023 will air live on BET on Sunday 25 June 25, at 8pm ET/5pm PT, or 2am CAT.
The nominations were selected by the BET Voting Academy, comprised of an esteemed group of entertainment professionals and influencers in music, media, digital marketing, sports journalism, public relations, and creative arts.
Following the news, fans took to social media to congratulate the trio for their nominations.
