Michael Chandler didn’t have to wait long for an answer after calling out Conor McGregor following his stunning head-kick knockout of Tony Ferguson at UFC 274.
A perfect front kick to the face floored Ferguson in the second round in Phoenix on Saturday night in what must rate among the greatest knockouts in UFC history.
And in his post-fight interview, the American roared: ‘I have one dude on my mind, Conor McGregor! You’ve gotta come down to fight somebody.

Chandler wasted little time in calling out Conor McGregor following his win on Saturday night
‘I am the most entertaining lightweight on the planet. I want to up the stakes, Conor. I want you at your biggest, I want you at your baddest and I want you at your best.
‘You and me, at 170, this summer, this fall, this winter.’
And within minutes, Notorious took to Twitter to provide a positive response and predicted a memorable contest.
He wrote: ‘I’d have a nice knock off this guy, no doubt about it. A firework spectacle.
‘I like the 170 shout also. Tipped him over.
Chandler soon received a response from Notorious, who said he would be keen on the fight
McGregor is finally back sparring again following his horror leg break against Dustin Poirier
‘I’m definitely game to fight this guy at some stage in my career. I see it happening after tonight.
‘Congrats on a solid win Michael and another barnstormer.’
McGregor is finally back in training after his leg break fighting Dustin Poirier back in July 2021, sparring for the first time last month ahead of a possible comeback this summer.
But it remains to be seen if the Irishman can cut down to lightweight in order to accept Chandler’s challenge.
