UFC 271: Douglas Silva De Andrade defeated Sergey Morozov.

Douglas Silva De Andrade defeated Sergey Morozov via submission (rear-naked choke), Round 2 – 2:35 at UFC 271 on Saturday, Feb. 12, 2022, live from the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.

“I had a hard first round. I came back, I did what I had to do. I deserve the $100k, I deserve the performance of the night bonus,” said Silva De Andrade with the help of a translator.

In the first round, Morozov dropped Silva De Andrade and opened up a nasty cut over his right eye. It looked like Morozov was on his way to winning the fight. However, the script completely flipped. Silva De Andrade dropped Morozov with a combination. While Morozov was able to get back to his feet, Silva De Andrade continued to bring the fight to him, landing a powerful knee and spinning elbow. After knocking Morozov down again, Silva De Andrade took the back and tried to sink in a chokehold. Eventually, Silva De Andrade was able to get his rear-naked choke under the chin of Morozov, rendering him unconscious and forcing the referee to stop the fight.

Since he joined the UFC, Silva de Andrade has had an up and down tenure. Inside the UFC Octagon, Silva de Andrade won five of nine fights. In his last fight, Silva de Andrade returned to bantamweight and earned a performance of the night bonus after he knocked out Gaetano Pirrello in the first round.

After losing his UFC debut, Morozov defeated Khalid Taha in his last fight. Following his loss at UFC 271, Morozov’s record dropped to 17-6.
