Speaking with ESPN, the lineal heavyweight champion explained that he hopes that a bout with Usyk can be staged next year, once he has recovered from surgery:
‘I’ve got to maybe have surgery on my right elbow. I had the left one done, so I’ve got to have it done. It will take about six-to-eight weeks to heal. We’ll see when we can be ready for this fight.’

The Gypsy King has previously spoken on having issues with his elbows, with his father John Fury revealing following his win over Deontay Wilder last year that the issue had required medical intervention.
Tyson was very badly injured going into that fight,’ he told BT Sport Boxing.
‘He had to have chromosome injections into both elbows. He’s since had an operation, six hours all day in hospital having them sorted out.
Meanwhile Chisora’s eye was swollen shut following Fury’s relentless onslaught in the fight
Referee Victor Loughlin stopped the fight in the tenth round to prevent Chisora receiving any further punishment
‘I think he had some bone spurs that he had to get removed, he was handicapped from the beginning. The boxing side of it went out the window because I knew he was going to be like that from early on.
Chisora meanwhile suffered serious swelling on his eye as a result of Fury’s relentless barrage of punches throughout the fight.
As the contest reached its championship rounds, the damage around Chisora’s face only continued to worsen before the referee stopped the fight with just seconds remaining in the tenth.
