A Twitter user named Subodh Pahalajan expressed his dissatisfaction with the meal served to him on the express train number 20171 on July 24. He shared a few pictures from his meal which he claimed had a cockroach inside it. As we could see, the insect was stuck to the roti served to the passenger on the Vande Bharat train. “IRCTC – found a cockroach in my food, in the Vande Bharat train,” he wrote in his post. In the clicks he shared, we could see a couple of rotis wrapped in foil paired with rice and sabzi in the meal served on Vande Bharat. There was also a small packet of savoury snack and a box of juice included in the meal. On opening the roti, the Twitter user found that there was a small cockroach stuck to one of the rotis.
A flurry of reactions poured into the comments section of the post. An IRCTC official wrote in from the Railway Seva account that appropriate action would be taken against the service provider. “We did not intend for this unpleasant experience. Appropriate actions will be taken to ensure that such incidents will not repeat. Request you to share PNR and mobile number preferably in Direct Message (DM) with us,” read the tweet. Take a look:
