Twitter outage: Platform back hours after users reported login problem
Twitter outage was reported by thousands of users.
Twitter outage was reported by thousands of users globally. Twitter was down for more than 55,000 users globally, as shared by outage tracking website Downdetector. Over 12,000 users reported the issue in the 30 minutes since it was flagged. Nearly 60% of the outages reported to Downdetector say that the app failed to load feeds, searches, or profiles in the morning leaving everyone confused. After some 2 hours, Twitter was back and the complaints gradually stopped.
As per the reports, users accessing the micro blogging site through the desktop were automatically logged out from their accounts. As many as 400 outages were reported in India till 5.30 pm as per the Downdetector data. Nearly 62% of the issues reported were on Twitter’s app and 30% were reported on the website and 8% reported server connection as of now. As users tried to login, a notification saying, “Something went wrong. Try reloading,” came up on the screen.
Twitter users in Pakistan, the United Kingdom, the United States, Brazil, Italy and a few others too reported the same issue for a brief period. At 8.20 am in New York on Thursday, 54,582 users reported problems, a report by news agency Bloomberg said. However, it lasted for around 10 minutes only and Twitter services were restored. It is yet to be clear when Twitter will be fully operational again for rest of the world.
The Twitter outage came just days after it sued Elon Musk for withdrawing his $44 billion offer to buy the social media giant. The micro blogging site asked a Delaware court to order the world’s richest person and Tesla’s CEO to complete the takeover. Some of the users even took a light-hearted jab on Musk after the outage.
However, this isn’t the first time in the recent period that Twitter outage has occurred. Earlier, a global outage was reported on February 11. Twitter had then said it was experiencing a huge number of application programming interface errors.
