One way to turn up the heat on your summer style? Dressing in vibrant hues. Think highly saturated silhouettes in the warm hues of the color wheel: bright pinks, vivid oranges, and bold reds, and everything in between. In prints that mix and match, textures that enhance, or via striking solids, there’s no wrong way to indulge in these feel-good fashions. This season, designers couldn’t resist these wonderfully bold colors, we’re seeing them on everything from sundresses and shirts to separates and sets. There is also plenty of fantastically bright swimsuits, too.
And if you prefer to stick to neutral colors and are reluctant to fully douse yourself in a kaleidoscope of tones, another area of the summer wardrobe to consider injecting color into is the accessory department; opt for a sandal, sun hat, or handbag in a stand-out color. While these saturated shades often skew maximalist, it’s hard to resist their seasonal appeal, no matter your sartorial aesthetic this summer. We’ll bet even minimalists will find themselves wanting to give gorgeous color a go. Our bet is on one of the gathered bodice midi dresses or button-up shirts, below. All of this and more in our high summer edit.
