Tulane vs. Houston prediction and odds for Wednesday, February 22 (Don’t underestimate Tulane)

The Houston Cougars are the No. 1 ranked team in the country, and have already avenged one of their two losses on the year.

They can extend their seven-game win streak to eight tonight when they host the Tulane Green Wave.

Houston crushed Tulane by 20 points in their previous matchup. Can they pull off a repeat performance tonight?

Believe it or not, I think Tulane can cover the spread in this one. The Green Wave are second in the conference, and a lot of their statistics hold up with Houston’s.

For example, Houston ranks 33rd in effective field goal percentage, but Tulane is right behind them at 49th.

The Green Wave also do a great job of not turning the ball over. They rank 10th in turnovers per possession, coughing up the ball on just 14.1% of possessions and 13.9% of possessions over their last three games.

Houston will dominate Tulane on the boards, but Houston’s slow pace of play makes it hard for them to cover big spreads at times. The Cougars rank 340th in possessions per game.
