Tua Tagovailoa should tell Tom Brady to ‘shut the f*** up’ after the 45-year-old hinted he might be open to unretiring again to become the quarterback for the Miami Dolphins.

Brady stunned football fans across the States on Thursday when, during an appearance at a tech conference in Miami, he curiously sidestepped a question about if he’d play for the Dolphins in 2023.

‘Oh man, I will say now that I’m not I’m affiliated with any team any more and, even though I have some ties to a couple of teams, I do have some friends on the Dolphins that I really like,’ Brady said. ‘I wouldn’t say I’m necessarily rooting for them all the time but I root for my friends to do well.’

As the words reverberated around football, Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio hit out at the seven-time Super Bowl winner and said it was disrespectful toward the current Doplhins QB Tagovailoa.

‘If I’m Tua, I’m reaching out through back channels to Tom Brady and asking him to politely shut the ‘f’ up because I’m the quarterback here,’ Florio said on the Joe Rose Show.

The 45-year-old Brady made the claims in a discussion at a tech conference in Miami 

”If you want to come take my job, come take my job. But if you’re truly retired and you’re just doing this for attention or whatever, don’t do it on my watch, don’t do it with my team. This is my job.” And I’d like to see some of that edge from Tua from time to time.

‘At some point, wouldn’t you like to have Tua stand up and – I’d love to hear him say ‘Hey, Tom Brady, just mind your own business. You’ve got your own issues, I’ve got my issues, you’re not coming here. I’m the quarterback here, keep my team’s name out of your mouth.

‘Of course, it would be good for our business too, but I’d love to see Tua show some fire like that.’

Brady retired for the second time on February 1 and in an emotional statement on social media insisted that ‘this time, it’s for good’.

Rumors have consistently swirled that Brady might come out of retirement again but the legendary quarterback has only addressed them on one other occasion, joking on Twitter: ‘Anyone who thinks I have time to come back to the NFL has never adopted a 2 month old kitten for their daughter.’

The 45-year-old’s career finished with an emphatic 31-14 loss to the Dallas Cowboys in the Wildcard Round of the NFC playoffs.

Brady gave a speech at the event in Miami Thursday about life and leadership.

‘You get a chance to choose in life what you want to be the best at,’ Brady told the audience. 

‘If you spend enough time and energy, and you create a culture of teamwork and a great environment of learning and humility, I think you have a great opportunity to succeed in life. 

‘You’re out there building a business, you’re out there trying to be good on a sports team… care about people that you’re doing things with, care about your teammates, care about what you’re trying to accomplish. Who gives a s*** if you win or lose.’
