‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’ box-office collection day 12: The Ranbir Kapoor starrer does reasonable on its second weekend – Times of India

‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’ completed its second weekend at the box-office. This Ranbir Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor starrer has been holding up quite well even after its first extended week. But from Friday onwards, the shows had become less at most places to accommodate newer releases like ‘Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway’, ‘Zwigato’ and ‘Kabzaa’.
The business over the second weekend was reasonable but could have been higher considering its weekday trend. But the lesser number of screens affected the numbers. ‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’ made 15 crore nett in its second weekend and took its overall total to 94 crore nett as per boxofficeindia.com. However, some trade analysts like Taran Adarsh had already tweeted yesterday that the film has crossed the 100 crore mark.

This 100 crore mark is too late for the film though as per trade and should have come much earlier. Having said that, ‘Tu Jhoothi..’ is dong well in Delhi, Gurgaon and Noida, but other places the business is average to dull. With that, the film will be called an average success and hasn’t failed like some other big releases lately.
In the post pandemic scenario, these collections are pretty good considering that films aren’t really doing that well, except for ‘Pathaan’. ‘Tu Jhoothi..’ was one of the most eagerly awaited big films of the year, and that’s why these numbers seem slightly disappointing, because it’s not likely that it will reach the 125 crore mark.

Meanwhile, it’s still doing better among the newer releases. While ‘Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway’ had a decent weekend of 6.5 crore nett while the other two films have been very dull. ‘Zwigato’ made less than a crore over the weekend, ‘Kabzaa’ garnered around 2.50 crore as per boxofficeindia.com.
