Truth Social is currently beating TikTok and Twitter: Elon Musk

Billionaire Elon Musk has indicated that former US President Donal Trump’s social media platform ‘Truth Social’ is on the top of the chart on the Apple Store. Not just that, it is beating TikTok too! Musk has shared a screengrab of the same and tweeted, “Truth Social is currently beating Twitter and TikTok on the Apple Store.” As per the screenshot shared by him, Twitter is on the second spot followed by LiveIn, BeReal and TikTok on 3rd, 4th and 5th position respectively.

Though It remains unclear what Musk is trying to say through that post. But, after Musk took over the microblogging site Twitter on Tuesday, it was being speculated that Trump’s Twitter account will be reinstated- currently, it is banned. However, Trump told Fox News that he would never return to the site. Trump is quoted by the site as saying, “”I am not going on Twitter, I am going to stay on TRUTH,” Trump told Fox News. “I hope Elon buys Twitter because he’ll make improvements to it and he is a good man, but I am going to be staying on TRUTH.” He will formally join the TRUTH Social over the next seven days.

Trump’s Twitter handle was permanently suspended from the microblogging site as well as Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat after the Jan. 6, 2021 Capitol Hill riot. Twitter even deemed a number of his tweets on the violent protests as offensive and warned of “the risk of further incitement of violence.”

Trump then revealed he would be soon launching his own social media app. The Trump Media & Technology Group launched the social media platform, TRUTH Social, last month.

Meanwhile, Musk acquired Twitter for $44 billion. Talking about the same, Trump called it a positive development in the social media space. He said, “I think it is good. We want liberty and justice and fairness in our country, and the more we can have open, the better.”
