Tony Weston shines as Rangers U19s storm to away UEFA Youth League victory

TONY WESTON stole the show this afternoon as Rangers U19s secured a huge away win in the UEFA Youth League.

The striker, 18, bagged an impressive hat-trick as the Ibrox youngsters ran out 4-2 winners against Septemvri Sofia.

The second-round first-leg clash was played in Bulgaria as Rangers earned the vital win.

And it was the English striker who stepped up to the plate to help the U19s on their way to the European win.

Weston opened the scoring on the 20th-minute.

However, the Gers found themselves behind after Sofia turned the game on its head thanks to Simeon Alexandrov and Martin Stoychev.

Cole McKinnon ensured that the Glasgow giants went in level at the break.

Weston would go on to put the Ibrox side back into the lead after the interval, before securing his hat-trick to wrap up the first-leg tie.

His performances are sure to be impressing those at Ibrox.

He is currently the joint-top leading scorer in the Lowland League so far this campaign.

Weston joined Rangers from Blackpool in 2020.

He will be aiming to repeat his performance in the second leg which will be held on Tuesday, December 7.
